Summer Camp 2019


The Santa Monica Tennis Center summer camp is for kids ages four and up.  Our specialized youth coaches provide a creative and fun environment while teachin tennis FUNdamentals and imparting their love of the game.  We instill a joy in learning that lasts a lifetime!  


Our camps feature more than just tennis.  Complimentary activities include work in Math, Reading, Art, Self confidence and team work.

Hot Shots 1  (ages 4-6) Mon-Thurs   9 am - 12 pm


​An adventure into a creative and stimulating learning environment unlike any other.  Our Hot Shots camp is designed to build a child's self-confidence, stimulate creativity, critical thinking and collaboration while developing gross and fine motor skills.  Like all of our youth classes, Hot Shots camp supports and utilzes the USTA "Quick Start Tennis" (QST) program, playing on 36' fourts using QST "Red" tennis balls.  Appropriate size courts and equipment help ensure your child's success and make tennis eashy and FUN!

Hot Shots 2  (ages 7-12) Mon -Thurs  9 am - 12 pm


​An interactive camp where students learn by doing.  Our philosphy is "repetition is the morther of success" and motion creates positive emotion.  In this class, all players will learn the fundamental strokes, positions, scoring and basicas of match play while utilizing our continuous movement philosphy to keep things fresh, fun and exciting for players and parents alike!

Hot shots I Camp (4-6 yrs) – Approximately 2 - 2.5 hrs on court daily


9:00 - 9:30         On court skill builders and group tennis games


9:30 - 10:00       Off court fitness, balance and plyometric exercises


10:00 -10:15      Snack break


10:15 - 11:00     Tennis rotations

                     a. forehands groundstrokes

                     b. backhand groundstrokes

                     c. volleys


11:00 - 11:15     Snack Break


11:15 - 12:00     Tennis games 



Hot Shots II Camp (7-12yrs) – Approx. 2.5 - 3 hours on court daily


9:00 - 9:30         Group calisthenics (yoga, plymometrics, strength training, balance and agility)


9:30 - 10:00       On court tennis drills


11:00 - 11:15     Snack Break


11:15 - 12:00     Group off court activity

                             a. capture the flag

                             b. soccer

                             c. tennis golf


11:15 - 12:00   – Tennis games or park time (alternates daily)


Frequently Asked Questions:  


Q: Should my child bring a lunch or snacks?


A: Yes, your child will be very active and their bodies need fuel. A healthy lunch with snacks is necessary for them to maintain energy levels, focus and for recovery from day to day activities.


Q: I want my child to play more tennis daily in camp.


A: We try to balance the camper’s amount of tennis with what we feel is healthy for their bodies. Our formula for on court versus off court activities has been a proven formula for development and enthusiasm for more than 20 years of tennis camps and tens of thousands of campers.
